历史沿革[edit]
清光绪二十六年（1901年），新沙一带属香山县第八区；民国至建国初期，仍在中山县第八区之内。1958年编为新三大队，隶中山县白蕉人民公社；1965年改隶佛山地区斗门县的白蕉人民公社；定名新沙村要到1986年，名称沿用至今。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村下辖的五围、六围、安丰围等自然村，也是依围垦先后的次序或取吉祥之意命名的。[1]
