地名由来[edit]
旧八顷始建于清咸丰四年（1854年），围田每围约800亩，围垦比邻近的自然村更早，因而叫「旧八顷」；新八顷建于清光绪二十四年（1898年），围出的田也是800亩，因成围比旧八顷晚，便叫「新八顷」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
建国后在中山县第八区。1965年7月斗门设县，八顷编为大队，隶斗门县的六乡镇人民公社；1983年随斗门县划归珠海市；2001年县改区；2002年六乡并入白蕉，八顷也随之归白蕉镇。[1]
