地名由来[edit]
相传二百多年前，白蕉一带还是一片茫茫水域，最早的居民林氏先人抱住一株山蕉树随水漂流，在白石公山上岸安家，所以得名「白蕉」。另一说法是，这里以前叫「白石村」，因白蕉岭上有一对灰白色的飞来石。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村里有三千多人，民系比较多元，有说四邑话的广府人、客家人，还有从高州府（今茂名一带）迁来的。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
白蕉村立于清康熙年间，建国前后叫白蕉乡，在中山县第八区之内。1958年编为白蕉大队，划归斗门县白蕉公社；1984年改作白蕉乡，1986年起称白蕉村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，白蕉村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
