历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，明嘉靖二十一年（1544年），榕益一带归香山县黄梁都管；到了民国，改属中山县第八区，建国后仍是第八区的辖地。1958年编入中山县白蕉人民公社；斗门建县的1965年，改隶斗门县的白蕉人民公社；1983年斗门县划归珠海市，榕益也随之；直到2001年才设村民委员会，隶斗门区白蕉镇。[1]
地名由来[edit]
榕毕树村在清乾隆年间立村。陈姓先祖迁来时，见村后山上长着一种叫「榕笔仔」的树（笔管榕），叶如榕叶、果如笔头，便以树名作村名「榕笔树」，后来「笔」字写成了「毕」。小沙栏村原是海浪冲积的沙滩，南边大的叫大沙栏，这边小的叫小沙栏。[1]
荣誉[edit]
榕益村在2019年9月和2020年12月先后列入广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单（分别是2018年度和2020年度）。[1]
