历史沿革[edit]
百度百科说南澳建于清道光年间，旧称南溪村，后因地形而谐音称作南澳；博雅地名网的沿革部分则写作明末崇祯年间立村。[1][2] 建国后叫南澳村，在中山县第八区六乡乡之内；1965年起编为南澳大队，隶斗门县六乡公社；1984年改作南澳乡，1986年起称南澳村民委员会；2002年归新建的白蕉镇管辖。[1] 另有一种说法，村名因村南有山澳而来。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村里的主要姓氏有梁、黄、吴、冯等，使用粤方言的水上话。[2]
文化[edit]
据百度百科，村里保留着水乡文化，咸水歌与斗门水上婚嫁习俗都列入了非物质文化遗产。[2] 近年村内新建了沿河的观光带、晒谷场、百竹园、樱花园、龙舟体验基地、农家书屋和文化长廊，道路也都铺成了硬化路面。[1][2]
荣誉[edit]
2017年11月，南澳村获中央文明委授予第五届全国文明村镇称号；2023年4月列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单，同年11月入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；2024年1月又被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
