云西村在南雄市水口镇境内，位于水口镇东部，属革命老区村[1]。下辖12个自然村，分为17个村民小组，共248户、1026人；耕地1670亩，另有林地8340亩。主要作物为黄烟、水稻、花生。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

地名由来：村名取其所辖两个大村之名各一字：云沙下村的“云”，西瓜墩村的“西”。[2]

1949年设云西农会，1954年组成云西初级社，1956年升格为高级社；1963年由西瓜墩、石坡两个大队并为云西大队；1983年起称云西乡，1988年称云西管理区，撤销管理区、设立云西村委会，一直延续至今。[1]

近年的称号与名单：

  • 云西村为广东省卫生村（2022年度），2023年5月由广东省爱卫会授予。[1]
  • 2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位之一（2019年9月公布）。[1]
