观新村是雄州街道下辖的行政村，在南雄市东郊，距市中心约3公里，由观斗坪和哈东两个大村落组成。[1]村名据说原因村民热心互助，后依谐音改作“观新”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

观新一带在1949年设有农会，其后先后改为初级社（1954年）、高级社（1956年）和大队（1961年）。[1]1983年政社分开，成立观新乡；1988年称管理区，1998年12月管理区撤销，改设村民委员会，一直沿用。[1]

经济与荣誉[edit]

全村276户、1053人，分10个村小组，耕地1500多亩，种植黄烟、水稻和花生（博雅地名网所载，未注明年份）。[1]2020年8月，观新村以禾花鱼入选省农业农村厅公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村。[1]
