梅花镇在韶关市乐昌市西部，西面与秀水镇及湖南省宜章县栗源镇交界，是当地所称「梅辽四地」的中心。[1]全镇辖1个社区和17个行政村（2020年6月）。[1]镇域属石灰岩喀斯特地貌，梅花街社区是镇中心区。[1][2]1931年红七军在此与国民党军激战，1928年初朱德、陈毅率南昌起义军余部在大坪村杨家寨议定智取宜章，这两处旧址是镇内的主要史迹。[5][6][7]

民国年间，梅花属乳源县第三区。新中国成立当年的12月，仍在乳源县，编入第四区，立梅花乡。此后建制数次更动：1952年8月建第七区，1955年8月改成梅花人民公社，1983年公社改称区，1987年1月撤去区公所、建梅花镇。[2]

镇名取自梅花墟。博雅地名网载，墟所在的石灰岩小盆地四周散布着石灰岩残丘，形状像梅花，故名。[2][11]

据百度百科，梅花镇东邻大源镇，南接云岩镇，西面与秀水镇及湖南省宜章县栗源镇交界，北面连着老坪石和罗家渡，土地面积196.79平方千米。[1]维基百科引镇政府旧资料写作197.7平方公里，博雅地名网则记为224.9平方公里，几处数字不一致。[2][4]镇内是乐昌市七个石灰岩乡镇之一，裸露的石山多，土壤是红色石灰土，植被较少，水源紧缺。[1]

气候属亚热带季风性湿润气候。年降水量，维基百科写约1730毫米，博雅地名网转载的镇情介绍则写1200毫米。[1][3][4]

百度百科记，2018年末全镇户籍人口59787人，2019年末为60786人。[1]维基百科称全镇居民都是客家人，说客家话。[4]

2017年全镇生产总值8亿元，比上年增长7%，其中第一产业增加值0.48亿元，第二产业0.64亿元。[1]镇情介绍列出的农业项目有种猪场、500亩的种苗果场、300亩以上的西瓜、板栗和辣椒基地，以及3000亩黄烟基地，并说蚕桑、茶叶、黄烟、优质米、无公害蔬菜、林木和水果已形成七类商品生产基地。[3]

该介绍还说，梅花镇是广东省268个中心镇之一，建成区面积已有3平方公里；2001年全镇国民生产总值3.6亿元，农民人均纯收入3648元。[3]梅花镇以蔬菜入选省农业农村厅2020年8月公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业镇；2021年1月，梅花镇被评为广东省卫生城镇（2020年度）。[2]

梅花街是集市所在。维基百科称，尾数为3或8的日子是梅花的墟期，当地人叫「赶闹子」。[4]京珠高速公路设有梅花出入口，坪乳公路贯穿全镇，镇区离坪石火车站约14公里。[4]

大坪村的杨家寨是镇内的主要史迹所在，详见大坪村条。[7]乐昌市政府网站发布过梅花镇万亩油菜花进入最佳观赏期的短片（2023年3月），这是镇上的季节性景观。[12]

名胜古迹[edit]

梅花镇是乐昌红色遗迹较集中的地方。1928年1月6日，朱德、陈毅率南昌起义军余部渡过武江，向湘粤边境的大坪杨家寨前进，7日到达，司令部设在杨家寨的文奎楼。当晚在楼里开军事会议，听取乐昌、宜章党组织负责人的汇报，决定利用湘南敌军兵力薄弱的时机智取宜章县城，并初步拟定湘南暴动的战略方针；11日起义军从杨家寨出发，12日攻占宜章。[6]这一处旧址今称湘南暴动军事会议旧址，与新书房、杨氏宗祠、文昌阁一起，作为「大坪南昌起义军和红七军革命活动旧址」被列为第九批广东省文物保护单位。[6][7]

红七军旧址在梅花村。1931年2月1日，军长张云逸、总指挥李明瑞、政委邓小平率红七军从广西经湖南进入广东，在乐昌进驻梅花村，其中55团与58团把指挥部安在莲花祠。第二天，4个团的国民党军扑来，红七军交战后撤离梅花村，转入大坪和湖洞一带，并于2月4日抵达江西的中央苏区。[5]莲花祠为砖木结构的硬山顶建筑，面积约100平方米，1978年由乐昌县人民政府公布为文物保护单位，称红七军指挥部旧址。[5]乐昌市人民政府的介绍把这次战斗称为「梅花血战」，并提到镇上的红七军革命烈士纪念园。[10]2026年9月，梅花镇的新兵出发前也到红七军烈士陵园祭奠，该处由廖氏祖孙三代守护。[9]

西京古道乐昌段经过坪石、梅花、云岩三镇，是广东省文物保护单位。古道始建于西汉建元六年（公元前135年），北端在梅花镇的鹧鸪塘古道。2018年，西京古道（乐昌精华段）入选南粤古驿道18条精华线路，精华段全长10.3公里，起点是梅花客运站。[8]

镇概况还提到黄巢石、铁罗坝姐妹石、九仙杯、仙人岩，以及位于坪溪的金山温泉等。[3]

著名人物[edit]

廖贤思（1924年至1950年），又名廖又生，大富岗村人，民国31年（1942年）在乳源县立中学读初中。[2]杨韶良（1918年至1983年），祖籍梅花大坪村杨家寨，因出生在韶关得名；其父杨子达随朱德的工农革命军上了井冈山。[2]
