马头镇在广东省韶关市新丰县东北部，东邻河源市连平县和东源县，圩镇距县城约14公里[1][4]。辖区合并了原马头、石角、大席三镇，下辖3个社区、30个行政村，镇政府设在马头圩[1][4]。因旧墟西北有一座形似马头的小山而得名，墟市始建于清初，1959年新丰江水库蓄水后迁到湖塘村重建[3][4]。全镇面积约530平方公里，常住人口约1.86万，以蔬菜种植和涂料工业为主要产业[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

马头镇的墟市形成于清初，原址在新丰江边，处于福水、乌石岗、军屯三地交界处。因墟镇西北有一座形似马头的小山，墟市得名马头[3][4]。当地另有一则传说：一位修仙者的神马在福水坳被雷神劈成两截，马头化为一块奇石，后人在石旁建墟，故名“马头”[4]。

1959年新丰江水库建成蓄水，旧墟被淹，墟市迁到湖塘村重建，镇的治所也设在新址[3][5]。明清两代，此地分属长吉都下的黄猄牙、锡场、严层三约，民国时期属第二区[5]。1958年撤区改乡时为马头乡（层坑乡于当年1月并入），后称马头公社；1983年撤公社建区，称马头区；1986年12月设镇[5]。

大席在1957年6月曾划归连平县管辖，1962年6月又划回马头公社[5]。其后石角、大席先后从马头划出，各设公社，撤区设镇后三地各为一镇；2005年12月，石角、大席两镇再并入马头镇，成为现在的范围[5][4]。

地理环境[edit]

马头镇在新丰县东北部，圩镇距县城约14公里，东面与河源市连平县、东源县相邻[1][4]。据县政府网站介绍，全镇总面积约530平方公里，耕地约5.23万亩，山林约66万亩，其中生态林24.6万亩[1]；博雅地名网载辖区面积为530.9平方千米[3]。

地势西北高、东南低，落差较大，中部为丘陵，山地和坡地多、平原少，平原主要沿河谷分布。森林面积18万亩，约占山地面积的七成三，以松、杉和阔叶树为主。镇内河流主要是新丰江和羌坑河，可开发的水力资源约3万千瓦，但农业用水偏紧[4]。大广高速和105国道从境内穿过，镇政府把它说成珠三角2小时生活圈的一部分[2]。

人口民族[edit]

镇政府网站称全镇常住人口约1.86万[1]。第七次全国人口普查（2020年）的人口数为2.01万，在新丰县各乡镇中居第2位[3]。另一份概况记的户籍人口为42449人，农业以外的人口3297人[4]。汉族占99.99%，其余是因婚嫁迁入的满族、壮族、苗族等[4]。

经济[edit]

马头镇以蔬菜为主要农产。2020年8月，它被广东省农业农村厅列入第二批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业镇名单（蔬菜）[3]。镇里引进的合作社中有「田丰蔬菜农民专业合作社」和「广鸿联民农业专业合作社」，后一家被评为「广东省巾帼种养示范基地」；上湾村种植大芥菜晒菜，文义村有投资300多万元的花卉种植[2]。

工业方面，马头工业园以涂料产业为起点，向综合园区转型，累计投入超过5亿元，已有13家企业投产[2]。市政污水处理厂已建成投产；按省设计院的总体规划，到2030年墟镇规划面积将达4平方公里[2]。2002年马头被列为中心镇规划建设[4]，2023年11月被列入「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」；2026年5月，它又名列「广东省第一批开展现代化建设的中心镇」[3]。

文化[edit]

当地民俗与客家传统相同，群众使用客家方言。丧葬已由土葬改为火葬。民国时期，雅盖设有基督教会堂，1950年新丰县的基督教活动停止[4]。

名胜古迹[edit]

镇政府列出的旅游点共五处：鲁古河自然保护区、大席桃花岛、秀田古村落、九栋十八井客家围屋，以及在甑洞村、靠105国道的白花林旅游区，后者因成片的白色梧桐花得名[1][2]。九栋十八井在潭石村，秀田古村在秀田村，详见各村条目。

鲁古河全长33.6公里，在秀坑村汇入新丰江水库，流域内的「广东新丰鲁古河国家湿地公园」占地469.54公顷，国家林业局在2014年12月批准其为国家级湿地公园[2][6]。桐木山一带规划有面积约2万亩的温泉旅游项目，温泉水含硫，属硫磺温泉[2]。路下村的麻埔石桥建于清乾隆四十六年（1781年），是广东省文物保护单位[7]。
