秀坑村是马头镇辖下的行政村，在新丰县东北部[1]。据博雅地名网所载沿革，秀坑1958年设大队，1984年设乡政府，1990年成为管理区，1998年设村委会，沿用至今[1]。2021年12月，秀坑村获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号[1]。2026年1月，它获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。
鲁古河全长33.6公里，在秀坑村汇入新丰江水库，是新丰江的一级支流[2]。
