秀田村是马头镇辖下的行政村，在新丰县东北部[1]。据博雅地名网所载沿革，1953年设乡，1958年改称大队，1984年改设乡政府，1990年成为管理区，1998年起为村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。广东省文化和旅游厅在2019年9月将秀田村认定为首批「广东省文化和旅游特色村」[1]；同年12月，国家林业和草原局公布的第二批国家森林乡村名单中有秀田村[1]。2020年8月，首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单中，秀田村以蔬菜入选[1]。2021年12月，它获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号[1]。2026年1月，又获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[1]。
村中有一株树龄约400年的秋枫（又名重阳木），主干要七个人合抱，根系向外伸到稻田旁的小河边，秋天有白鹭栖息树上；古树周围约有800多亩田园[2]。村里的围屋正门挂有“郞官第”“武略第”两块题匾[2]。
