历史沿革[edit]

村民以莫姓居多，村名由此而来。[1]

新中国成立初设莫家乡，1958年改莫家大队，1983年设莫家乡政府，1986年设莫家村委会，1989年称莫家管理区，1998年复称莫家村委会，沿用至今。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

农业以水稻为主，辅以花生、蔬菜，收入来自榨油、餐饮和外出务工。2006年“7·15”特大洪灾冲毁了村里大部分农田、水利设施和民房。[1]
