历史沿革[edit]
因山间坪地上植物种类多，故称草田坪。[1]
新中国成立初设草田坪乡，1958年改草田坪大队，1983年设草田坪乡政府，1986年设草田坪村委会，1989年称草田坪管理区，1998年复称村委会，沿用至今。[1]
人口与经济[edit]

山多林密、气温较低、日照短，水稻只能种一造，兼种花生、玉米、蔬菜。1988年曾划归方洞林场，后又随林场并入桂头镇。[1][2]
荣誉[edit]
该村位列国家林业和草原局2019年12月公布的「第二批国家森林乡村」；2022年8月，成为「2022年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2023年4月，榜上有名，列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]
