茶塘村位于炭步镇区南部，面积3.13平方千米，辖茶塘、新村、横湖3个自然村，合计11个村民小组，村民多姓汤。[1][2]村内明清古建筑占地6.7万多平方米，有长336米的「诗塾一条街」，列入广东省第二批古村落。[1][2]近年村内的工业用地改作茶塘预制菜产业园。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
汤氏于宋代由南海迁入，宋末自石湖再迁出，立村于茶塘，立村约700年。[1][2]村名的说法是：「汤」字带水旁，茶也是水，塘可容水，合称茶塘。[1]1987年设茶塘村委会，隶属炭步区公所，3月转隶炭步镇人民政府。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
「诗塾一条街」建于清代，在336米长的池塘边排列着5个祠堂、9个书舍、4个私塾和1个洪圣古庙。[1]洪圣古庙位于南社，清嘉庆二十一年（1816年）所建，1902年和2003年两度重修。[1]另有友峰汤公祠、南寿家塾（始建于1872年）、万良汤公祠等。[1]搜狐号文章称炭步有「茶塘庙，塱头桥」的说法，茶塘庙即洪圣古庙。[4]
经济[edit]
村庄分布在禅炭公路两侧，炭步大道贯穿，西二环高速公路入口在村南。[1]1980年代以来村里五金加工为主，2021年起东区厂房陆续征迁，转建茶塘预制菜产业园；规划用地2250亩，已完成947亩供地，约285亩有项目进驻，美团、领航食品等企业入驻。[3]茶塘村在2021年、2022年入选淘宝村名单，2024年1月被命名为「2023年全国示范性老年友好型社区」。[1]
文化[edit]
2023年10月，汤氏中山书院在村内举行晋主典礼。村里还有新婚拜祭德星里井的习俗。[4]
