大坪村是莲峰镇下辖的村，属镇乡结合区，村域内有冠豸山的一部分。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

地名取自地势开阔的平地。宋代此地属南顺里，解放初隶附城区揭乐乡。1958年归超美公社揭乐大队，1974年自揭乐分出，设大坪大队。[1]

1984年恢复乡建制后划入文川乡；1993年撤乡并镇，改属莲峰镇，下辖五个自然村。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村境内的冠豸山上有摩崖石刻群，共有元、明、清石刻39处，占地约2万平方米，内容多为题写山上景观与地名。[1]
