大坪村在湖林乡西北部，是一个革命老区的基点村。村子与县城相距26公里，与乡政府相距10公里，平均海拔720米。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传一位县令乘轿路过此地，轿夫说此地名叫「落堀」，县令觉得不吉利，便改用意思相反的「大坪」作吉祥之名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1943年，大坪属珍山乡管辖。1958年时隶属湖林公社，设为大坪大队；1984年起改为大坪村委会。[1]

人口与地域[edit]

据博雅地名网，村下辖3个自然村，设7个村民小组，全村203户、居民689人。耕地870亩，山地45000亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，大坪村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单。[1]

2025年10月，大坪村被认定为「漳州市2025年度市级一村一品专业村」，专业方向为大坪金牡丹。[1]
