历史沿革[edit]

村名取自驻地的山口自然村。1960年由大坑大队析出，另设山口大队，1984年改为山口村委会；更早，1958年属安厚公社，1950年隶属第五区合东乡，1945年为平南乡山口保。[1]

2021年2月，山口村列入福建省2018至2020年度省级文明村镇社区名单。2025年11月，山口村被确定为2025年漳州市「乡村振兴实绩突出村」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

全村面积2.92平方千米，其中水田860亩，土地2760亩。村东侧与白石村的许坑相连，西隔一溪与东寨村相望。[1]
