塘头村隶属福建省泉州市晋江市紫帽镇，村址在镇政府东侧，福厦公路北侧，东北靠着紫帽山[1][2]。村名来自村中的池塘，塘的两边各有一片聚居处，分称上塘与下塘[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，宋末蔡日晖自青阳梅山蔡厝迁来，在池塘边建居，其后人分居塘子两侧[1]。

民国33年（1944年）属梅溪乡紫园保，明清时属三十二都[1]。1961年为紫帽山农场塘头大队，1959年隶属磁灶公社塘头大队，1956年归池店区紫湖乡。1984年起属紫帽乡塘头村委会，1992年撤乡建镇后改为紫帽镇塘头村委会[1]。

地理环境[edit]

村子西北侧与晋江高尔夫球场相邻[2]。

文化[edit]

2021年11月，塘头村获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号[1]。2022年10月，福建省农业农村厅将塘头村认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」[1]。
