大坪村是安溪县大坪乡下辖的行政村，也是乡政府驻地所在，城乡分类属乡中心区。村名的来历是：此地为高山上的一片小平原，早先称平山，又称大平、太平，后改称大坪。[1]

村内有县级文物保护单位大坪高氏宗祠，明清时期的古建筑，位于杏林52号；此外，村民募建的兴隆桥也保存在村中。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，本村属新康乡中的居中六里；民国时期属新康乡太平保。新中国成立后，1958年成为西坪公社的大坪大队，1961年归西坪区大坪公社，1965年改属虎邱公社，并称大坪大队。1984年，大队改设村委会。1987年大坪乡设立，本村是其中的一个行政村，也是乡政府驻地。[1][2][4]

名胜古迹[edit]

大坪高氏宗祠位于杏林52号，为县级文物保护单位，建筑年代据县级文物名录为明清。[1][3]

道光八年（1828年）村民募资建成兴隆桥，东西向跨过河溪。桥为单拱石孔式，矢高3.5米，净跨7.4米，全长16米，桥面宽4.4米；桥西立有建桥记事碑。村内另有红军标语遗存。[1][2]
