白沙社区属镇中心区，社区所在一带即白沙镇旧时的集市白沙铺，宋代设白沙务后此地以白沙为名。[1]

文化[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名白沙社区为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

程灿烈士故居在白沙居委会坪埔自然村。程灿（1914年8月至1949年3月）又名程新，白沙人。他1930年底小学毕业后留在家乡务农，结识中共地下工作者，思想逐渐向进步靠拢。1933年参加广业区农会活动，由此走上革命道路。1935年10月，他被调到闽中工农红军游击队第二支队，在支队部担任通讯兵，经历了闽中三年的游击斗争。[2]
