大坪村位于福州市永泰县白云乡境内，在永泰、闽清、闽侯三县交界处，靠近姬岩与白岩山脚，距乡政府约15千米，属丘陵地带。[1][2]

村名的来历：迁居此地时地势崎岖，人们只能选一块较平的小地块建房，称作「大平」。后来“平”与“坪”读音相近，便写作大坪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1961年，白云人民公社下设大坪生产大队；1984年改为白云乡大坪村委会。清代时该村隶属中和乡新丰里十九都。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

村域面积6.5平方千米。村里有小型水库一座，普通水库两座，基本满足农林业生产用水。通村水泥公路正在修建，有线电视尚未覆盖。[1][2]

人口[edit]

全村共215户、780人，其中常住人口100多人。下辖大坪、岗洋、溪坪、王进、隔头顶五个自然村，有15个村民小组，居民都是汉族。[1][2]

经济[edit]

村民以种植业为主，耕地1235亩，粮食能够自给。山地1795亩，林地6753亩，竹林250亩，果园120亩。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，大坪村获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
