上寨村属上莲乡中心区，位于乡境内，因村中旧时建有寨堡而得名[1]。

地名由来[edit]

据记载，此处早先为黄姓居住。十一世纪前后黄姓迁往外地，这里一度无人聚居。其后林、池、刘、蒋、付等姓迁入，在村中修建寨堡，因位于水头上方，取名「上寨」[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

明清时称十三都。民国时期归双兰乡莲埔保。1950年隶四区上莲乡。1958年划入池园公社，列为上莲大队的一部分；1961年又归上莲公社。此后，村中新设上寨大队；次年改回池园公社，1980年重归上莲公社。1984年，本地成为村委会，隶上莲乡[1]。
