光荣村隶属于信宜市金垌镇，在广东省茂名市境内，是镇辖的一个村民委员会[1]。
地名由来[edit]
村名来自1962年岭咀、湾角两个大队合并之时：周边原有红星、金星、光荣等叫法，人们觉得光荣一名带有自豪感，合并后的大队便叫光荣[2]。
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，该村的名称与建制依次为：民国时期：特亮围十二村、光荣社（1953年）、光荣大队（1962年）、设乡政府（1983年）、村民委员会（1987年）、管理区办事处（1989年）、复称村民委员会，沿用至今（1999年）[1]。
