大坑社区在金渡镇东部，靠双金公路，与蚬岗镇相邻，与圩镇相距约6公里，面积约8.87平方公里，共分15个村民小组[1]。

耕地2578亩，人口3961人；双金公路和广肇高速公路从村前经过。村民以种养为主，不少人外出种菜；村里利用山地引进了养殖场、千层桉与尾叶桉基地和花木基地[1]。大坑社区在2018年7月被司法部和民政部公布为「第七批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」[1]。
