村名的由来：村里有一座形似马的山，马背上又有一座小山，像人骑在马背上[1]。
建置沿革：解放初期为第九村农会，其后1952年属高岭大队，随后1958年从高岭分出骑马大队，再后1983年起改设乡一级政权，接着其后几经改称，又1999年起定名骑马村民委员会[1]。
荣誉：2019年10月入选「2019年广东省卫生村名录」[1]。
经济[edit]
村里的主要经济作物是香蕉和水稻[1]。据村情资料，上一年全村经济总收入约620多万元，村里加强技术培训，以香蕉为主，并引导村民改善水田种植[1]。
