村名的由来：旧时村民每月都要举行庆贺活动，祈求生活美满平安，因此得名[1]。
建置沿革：位于水口镇东部，其后与高州市的东岸、石切一带相邻。民国时期及解放初期，随后与大甲同属第九村，再后1962年分设贺家、大甲两个大队，接着1983年起改设乡一级政权，又其后几经改称，其后1999年起定名贺家村民委员会[1]。
经济[edit]
村里的主要经济作物是沙糖桔、香蕉和水稻，特色收入有香蕉、养猪和桔子[1]。据村情资料，上一年全村经济总收入约810万元；全村桔子种植面积达1300多亩，养殖上百头猪的农户有6家[1]。
