村名的由来：据村情资料，从前村里有一对新人成婚，盼望白头到永远，村名由此而来[1]。
建置沿革：民国时期属良垌中乡，其后1958年与岭上合并为到永大队，随后1961年又单独设到永大队，再后1983年起改设乡一级政权，接着其后几经改称，又1999年起定名到永村民委员会[1]。
荣誉：2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村；2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]。
经济[edit]
村里的主要经济作物是香蕉和水稻[1]。据村情资料，上一年全村经济总收入约1130多万元，较大的企业有3家，吸纳就业500多人，村里还在扩大香蕉种植并开展技能培训[1]。
