平塘村隶属广东省茂名市化州市杨梅镇，地处杨梅镇区南面，邻米西村和吴川市振文镇。据博雅地名网的村情介绍，全村在册536户、2708人（该页未注明年份），总面积3.4平方千米，耕地约893亩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立前后属杨梅乡；土改之后办起初级农业合作社；1958年公社化时叫平塘大队；1983年称平塘乡；1987年建立村民委员会，1989年改称管理区办事处。[1]
经济[edit]
主要经济作物是花生，低洼耕地被改成鱼塘；平塘、旺竹山等自然村修了环村公路。村情页给出的上一年农村经济总收入是2650万元。[1]
2019年9月，平塘村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
