历史沿革[edit]
“洞”原指田垌，相传元代有乡人在此遇仙，称“仙洞”；民国时分为仙洞南、仙洞北，仙洞南简称洞南。[1]博雅地名网所载沿革称，南宋咸淳九年（1273年），杨姓先祖从南雄珠玑巷来到白叶坑立村，随后廖、陆、刘等姓迁入；该网站洞北村页面也有相同的记载。[1]新中国成立后，该村于1958年设管理区，1986年起称村委会。[1]
人口与土地[edit]
村分11个村民小组，629户，2032人；耕地1272亩，鱼塘1655亩，山地1152亩。[1]2023年的发展规划把洞南村与坑口、水背、洞北等村一起列入对接广州华商职业学院、发展村级物业的村。[2]
