历史沿革[edit]
村名在因村在土名“迳口”的山迳之后，明万历县志写作“迳背”；方言中“迳”“庚”“京”音近，后来写成“庚背”，再改为“京背”。[1]建村者是南宋黄源深的六世孙，由台山迁来，时在明洪武年间（1368—1398）。[1]清光绪六年（1880年），因人口增多，分出沙亮、京新、三斗、圯桥4个自然村。[1]1951年京背与京梅合为双京乡，1961年成立京背大队。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网载，村有5个自然村、11个村民小组，506户，常住人口1555人；耕地830亩，鱼塘1360亩。[1]2019年9月，村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
