历史沿革[edit]
据《广东省顺德市地名志》，唐末就有人居住。传说唐天复年间（约901至903年），一尊木雕佛像漂流到此，村民将它供奉起来；当地把河叫“滘”，村子便称佛滘。清雍正年间与邻村打官司，状纸上把佛滘写成弼教，村名随之改为弼教。[3]弼教大队成立于1958年，1983年改乡，1987年称村，1999年设村委会。[1]
经济与文化[edit]
村里种花已有两千多年历史，被称为岭南花乡，民间有“先有弼教，后有花地”的说法。[2]清代书画家黎简是弼教人。[2]2011年，村集体收入为460万元；产值方面，工业约1.4亿元，农业3425万元，商业约1400万元。[2]村里有常住居民4315人和外来人口1725人，分5个村民小组。[2]
