历史沿革[edit]
据百度百科，村落始建于南宋宝庆年间（1225年）。[1] 1958年10月南庄公社成立时属紫湖大队，1963年5月紫湖大队一分为二，设湖涌大队；1983年11月称湖涌乡，1987年2月设南庄镇湖涌村民委员会，2002年12月划归禅城区。[3]
文化[edit]
“扒草艇”于2017年列入佛山市非物质文化遗产项目，每年举行三八凤艇赛和端午男子草艇赛。[2]
人口[edit]
常住约2900人，外来暂住者1000余人，世居村民主要姓罗和简。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年获评「第六批广东省家庭文明建设示范点」；2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局把它列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；2026年3月认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1][3]
