东升村在桂岭镇西部，地处榕江支流德桥河上游，与月城镇双河村、霖磐镇德北村接壤。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

博雅地名网记现有区域面积2.0平方千米，全村3318人，共738户；村二委干部五人，耕地1117亩，未注明年份。[2]

经济[edit]

农业种植是主要经济支柱，村子属纯农乡村。2009年，村民人均收入4715元，全村工农业产值合计3868万元。约六成村民已外出打工、经商或办实业。[2]

村里多方筹资，发动乡亲捐资，修建桂宁、后围、桥浦等村道，建成东升学校、体育运动场与灯光篮球场，村民饮上了自来水，主要路段装上了路灯。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄始建于清朝末年，民国时期属磐溪都。1972年析出为东升大队；1984年设东升乡，1986年才有东升村委会，并延续至今。[2]

2005年和2007年，东升村先后获县委、县政府评为「文明单位」；2008年，揭阳市爱国卫生运动委员会授予村子「卫生村」称号。[2]
