东升街道是广东省揭阳市榕城区的一个街道，位于区境东北部，东与揭东区相接，南临榕江北河，北靠黄岐山，市委、市政府及市直机关的办公所在地也在这里。[1][2]

据博雅地名网所载，街道的名称取自城区东南的东桥。东升街道办事处于1994年7月设立，第七次全国人口普查时街道人口为7.82万人。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

街道辖区面积10.22平方千米。东面与揭东区交界，西边延伸至市区的站前大道，南面以榕江北河为界，北面背靠黄岐山。临江北路、晓翠路、黄岐山大道和揭阳大道是辖区内的主要道路。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

2020年，原华诚社区以新河路为界拆分为两个社区：新河路以东的部分另设莲花社区，以西的部分仍称华诚社区。[4][5]

人口与经济[edit]

根据第七次全国人口普查结果（2021年6月公布），街道人口为7.82万人，在榕城区各街道乡镇中位列第二。[1]

商贸区域分布在金城商业文化步行街一带，宝德数码城同样在辖内，此外还有新河农贸市场、沟口市场与东泮莲花市场。[2]

教育与文化[edit]

学校方面，东升中学与新河中学设在辖内，新河和龙石各有一所小学，另有莲花学校。2010年建成的东升街道文化站，建筑面积为1600多平方米，兼有学习、健身与娱乐的功能。[2]
