东升社区机关设在民安村，离105国道约100米。东侧与新胜村毗邻，南侧是同茂社区；西面隔兆隆涌与兆龙社区相望，北面隔鸡笼涌与裕民社区相邻。辖区面积2.17平方公里。[1]

社区名称沿用镇名：居委会处在原东升镇的闹市中心，所以取东升为名。2022年11月，社区被认定为「2022年度第二批中山市绿色社区」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国初，这里叫鸡笼村，隶属乌白乡。1953年，鸡笼改为乡，隶属十三区。[1]

1961年，原鸡笼二大队分成鸡笼、新龙、新成、永胜四个大队，属小榄区鸡笼公社。[1]
