横山村属阳西县塘口镇，村委会驻横山圩，村内有泰安堡。2026年1月，该村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程典型村」称号。[1][4]

地名由来[edit]

村委会驻地在横山圩，村名由此而来。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

横山行政村于1949年11月设立，1953年隶属十五区平西乡，1956年归塘口区。1958年5月入塘口乡，同年12月改属织篢大跃进人民公社；1959年组成横山生产大队，同年10月又归塘口人民公社。[2]

1961年5月一度设横山人民公社，隶程村区，1963年才复归塘口人民公社。1967年称横山革命委员会，1980年转为生产大队管委会，1983年又设横山乡。1987年2月改为村委会，1989年9月改设管理区，1999年9月又设村委会。[2]

横山泰安堡建于1807年，出资人为刘振槐，堡身坐东北而朝西南，墙体以灰沙夯土筑成，墙厚约1米，高约6米。堡址占地6139.1平方米，与横山学校相连，是中共横山小学党支部旧址，并设有阳江横山红色展馆。博雅地名网一页称它为广东省文物保护单位，另一页则写作2002年列为县级文物保护单位。[4]

2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局把横山村确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；2020年12月，横山村列入「2020年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
