山塘村属和平县青州镇。据博雅地名网，村子得名于境内山与塘并存的地貌。[1]

村内的连和县人民政府旧址是一处革命旧址，1949年1月，连和县人民政府在此成立，现为县级文物保护单位。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子在1979年称伟星大队，1987年改设山塘管理区，1999年村民委员会设立，名称沿用至今。[1]

2019年9月，山塘村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」；2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予山塘村「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

连和县人民政府旧址位于村内。旧址原为当地刘姓祠堂，建于清末，占地约1024平方米。政府1949年初设于此地，辖和西及连平的部分乡镇，县长为骆维强；办公地点一直在刘氏祠堂内，至和平县城解放后才迁出。[2]

据维基百科，和平县在1983年8月把它公布为县级文物保护单位，归入近现代史迹一类。[3]
