赤古村在汕尾市区东边，濒临品清湖，山水相接，汕遮公路穿过村境的四个自然村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

赤古在建国之初是赤古乡，归东冲区；人民公社时期设为赤古大队；1989年改称赤古管理区；1999年成立赤古村委会。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

五个自然村（新乡、东吴、东朱、东古、东赤）组成村委会，共3378人，设赤古小学和东古小学两所全日制小学。耕地1100亩，山林约2000亩，有渔船58条、300多人捕鱼，另有12个滩涂养殖场（约100多亩），养鱼、虾和蟹。村里种有500亩荔枝（桂味、妃子笑），销往香港、深圳、上海和杭州等地。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年10月入选省卫生村名录，2021年12月获省卫生村称号；2022年11月，被确定为「2021年度全国综合减灾示范社区」。[1]
