遮浪社区（数据中记作“社区”）是遮浪街道的居民委员会。街道办事处所在的镇区在水龟寮村辖区内，社区自己没有土地辖区，居民来自街道25个自然村的城镇户籍人口。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

博雅地名网说，名称是因所在半岛呈西北—东南走向，替海面挡风浪而来。[1]年表如下：1950年建政，隶海丰县第七区；1953年划入田墘区；1957年立乡；1958年随乡并入田墘公社；1959年脱离田墘，另成遮浪公社；1983年3月公社改区；1986年末区改镇；1997年起为街道。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

社区总人口5777人，距市区30公里；居民多经商务工，部分人从事中浅海渔业和养殖，也有不少人定居香港。[1]
