历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初期，这里是遮湖乡的驻地，隶田墘区，乡下有东尾、东风、西岭、东联圩、东联、桂林、五家、湖尾、长沟、长新、新沟、径尾、西地、新岭共十四个村，民间叫“八乡片”。到1958年遮湖乡撤销，改设东尾大队，只管东尾、东风、西岭、新岭四村，隶遮浪公社。1999年设东尾村委会。[1]
经济与教育[edit]
农业种植水稻、花生，部分村兼营浅海渔业和养殖。该村重视教育，张静中学在辖区内。[1]
荣誉[edit]
荣誉按时间排：2019年9月，省文化和旅游厅公布的首批特色村名单有东尾村，同月东尾也在省民主法治示范村创建名单中；2021年8月，国家卫生健康委老龄司将其列为全国示范性老年友好型社区；2022年8月再次进入省民主法治示范村创建名单；2026年1月入选广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村。[1]村里的商业街被街道定为遮浪特产的展销平台。[2]
