新群村是兴宁市石马镇的行政村，由几个村合并新组而成，是同盟会创始人之一何天炯的家乡，村中有他的故居。[1][3]

名称与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，由几个村合并新组而成，故称新群。[1]晚近的一次变更是1999年改称新群村委会；此前依次为后改作新群管理区，称新群乡，1952年并为小乡，中华人民共和国成立前有「肖坊」「仕前排」等村名。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

何天炯故居名「无赫斋」，又称天炯楼，在村中荷秀坡，始建于1920年，建筑面积173.88平方米。[2]据百度百科，房屋依孙中山故居图纸改建，石砌木桷瓦顶，为三拱两层的日式小洋楼，门前留有何天炯亲手栽的古柏和日本铁树。[2]保护级别逐步提高：2008年为兴宁市级，2014年为梅州市级，2022年7月进入第十批广东省文物保护单位名单。[2]

著名人物[edit]

何天炯，字晓柳，1877年生于此村，1925年7月1日在广州病逝。他1903年东渡日本，攻读政治学，两年后入同盟会，是首任会计，后掌广东支部；1921年起驻日本，代表孙中山政府。著作有《无赫斋诗草》《山居一年半》等。[3]

  • 第三届全国文明村镇名单公布于2011年12月，新群村在内。[1]
  • 广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村，2026年1月评出，新群村入选。[1]
