名称与沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，名称沿用石马乡之名；乡名又来自马下村八丘坪的一块黑色巨石，石高二十多尺、长六十尺，形似昂首北望的骏马。[1]社区是1989年为便于管理镇上居民而设，名称沿用至今。[1]
