名称与沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，清代这里的粮田年年丰收，居民住在河的两岸，耕作要撑船过渡，村名因此而来。[1]晚近的一次变更是1999年改称米渡村委会；此前依次为1987年撤区设镇时改为米渡管理区，仍叫米渡社，建国初期由初级社到人民公社，咸丰八年（1858年）前后称米渡社。[1]
