合水镇在广东省梅州市兴宁市中部，距兴宁城区约15千米，面积约38.98平方千米。[2]镇名来自罗岗河与黄陂河在境内汇合、从此称宁江的地理位置。[1]2004年11月，原龙北镇撤销并入本镇。[3]第七次全国人口普查（2020年）时，常住人口约1.96万。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1979年，今镇域分属合水、龙北两个人民公社。1983年11月撤社设区，两地分属合水区公所和龙北区公所；1987年6月撤区设镇，依然是合水、龙北两镇。[3]龙北镇在2004年11月被撤销，辖地并入合水镇，这一调整事先得到广东省人民政府的同意。[3]

并入后，镇里原龙北一带的村与社区一并归合水镇管。[3]至于合水农场的各管理区，2021年3月由兴宁市政府常务会议议定，其中几个转设为一八村、二三村和四五村三个行政村。[9]

地理环境[edit]

博雅地名网所载概况写道，合水镇在兴宁市中部，南邻龙田，西接叶塘，西北靠大坪，北与坪洋、岗背交界，东连龙北。[2]省道S225线穿过镇境。[2]同一页的数据已经过时：当时的耕地5871亩，山地6595亩，果林地2882亩，镇域内另有国营合水农场，总人口17243人；这些数字是并入龙北镇之前的口径。[2]

合水水库[edit]

合水水库在合水镇境内的宁江上游，建在黄陂河与罗岗河汇合之处，大坝筑在梢公岭脚下，为宁江流域最重要的水利枢纽。[5]工程1956年10月动工，1957年7月建成，此后又在1959、1964、1987、2005这四年里陆续加固、扩建。[5]集水面积达568多平方千米，总库容11612万立方米，属大（2）型水利工程，以防洪、灌溉为主，兼顾供水、发电和改善水环境。[5]博雅地名网另称库区水面7.18平方千米，水库景区收入《中国名胜风光大辞典》。[2]

据博雅地名网，合水镇20世纪七八十年代以柑橘出名，90年代起转向以龙眼为主的种植，镇和农场合计种龙眼1万亩以上、荔枝2500多亩，镇曾被梅州市和兴宁市分别授予「梅州市农业龙头企业」「兴宁市龙眼基地镇」之称。[2]富和村的丝苗米、下官村的铁皮石斛，入选了2021年9月广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村。[10][11]

名胜古迹[edit]

  • 玉成围：三堂二横一围龙屋，建于民国十一年，由陈氏十四世祖寿公兴建，占地2630平方米；在2015年12月被省政府列入第八批省级文物保护单位。百度百科记其在霞洞村，博雅地名网则写作森洞村九组，两处不一。[4][6]
  • 炽昌楼：在白泡村禾园里，1943年由国民党将领钟彬所建，外为平房、中间是二层洋楼；2009年8月被兴宁市政府列入特色古民居保护名单。[7]
  • 文魁屋：在富和村，明代末年吴氏九世祖瑞寰兴建的围龙屋，分布面积4450平方米；2010年8月入选第二批兴宁市特色古民居，2014年8月晋升为市级文物保护单位（第六批）。[8]
  • 继述围：在湖岭村，刘氏兄弟刘伯翔、刘逸史合建，始建于1913年，为三堂二横四角楼围屋，分布面积约2194平方米；列为兴宁市特色古民居。[12]
  • 博雅地名网还列有溪唇村的南阳世居（清代）、合水水库湖心岛上的合水古塔（明末）和水库西岸山顶的合水革命烈士纪念碑（1959年），均为兴宁市县级文物保护单位。[4]

荣誉[edit]

2020年2月，合水镇获2019年度广东省卫生镇（县城）称号。[1]
