槐东村是黄槐镇的行政村，与镇政府所在的黄槐社区相邻，属镇乡结合区。[1]1987年原黄槐乡一分为二，东边一半成为现在的槐东。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

镇政府在1987年成立，黄槐乡随即分为槐西、槐东两个行政区，东边的称槐东；村委会的名称自1999年使用。[1]村地旧称黄坑尾、黄泥坪，是兴宁通往平远和江西的交通要道。1925年，当地人士曾问吾等人觉得旧名难听，取“黄”字与维新小学门前开黄花的槐树，将名字改为黄槐。[1]

荣誉[edit]

油茶是槐东村的“一村一品”项目，在省农业农村厅2021年9月公布的第二批专业村名单上；2021年12月它被省爱卫会授予卫生村称号；到2026年1月，又列入第二批“百千万工程”典型村。[1]
