下宝龙村在黄槐镇，原属宝龙，1959年另立大队。[1]
地名由来与沿革[edit]
上、下宝龙的地形合起来像一条长龙，下宝龙处在下半段，水土养人，当地人称之为宝地，村名由此而来。[1]
它原是宝龙的一部分，1950年属黄陂区北之乡；1959年分出，立下宝龙大队，1978年又改名红光大队，隶黄槐公社。1984至1986年是黄槐区下宝龙乡，其后1989年设管理区，1999年设村委会。[1]
下宝龙村见于2019年9月公布的广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建名单（2018年度）；2021年12月，获2021年广东省卫生村称号。[1]
