地名由来[edit]

原名寮前。相传平远设县以前，此地有一位名叫张古锋的富翁，流传民谣「未有平远县，楼前先发万」。因「寮」与「楼」读音相近，且人们喜欢「楼」字，后来写作楼前。[1]
