肥田村位于梅州市平远县八尺镇西北部，辖7个村民小组，在册276户、1054人，总面积3.11平方千米，耕地971亩。[1]
地名由来[edit]
当地流传「肥田坑禾高八尺，白莲塘花发九乡」的说法。据肖氏族谱，肖姓宋代从福建宁化石壁乡迁到平远大柘打鼓墩；明洪武十一年（1378年）一支迁居此地，开基一世祖见土地平坦肥沃、四周竹木成林，遂以「肥田」为名。[1]

种植甜玉米、脐橙、烤烟和水稻制种；据该页所载，上一年农村经济总收入562.8万元。[1]
著名人物[edit]
肖汉申（1769年—1815年）出生于此，嘉庆十年（1805年）中进士，曾任甘肃古浪县知县，著有《银槎诗集》。[2]
