墩背村在枫朗镇政府所在地的东南，设12个村民小组，在册334户、1492人，种水稻、茶叶，也经营林木。[1]

村子位于一座高高山墩的背面，由此得名墩背。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952至1956年属石云区墩背村，1957至1958年为枫朗乡的墩背乡；1958年10月单独设墩背乡，随后改称生产大队。1983年12月生产大队改称乡，1986年2月改称管理区，1998年成立村民委员会。[1]

2019年9月，墩背村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
