东城村在枫朗镇东南部，设11个村民小组，在册300户、1344人，主要种水稻。[1]
村名原为「东船」。据博雅地名网，当地端午节有走龙船的习俗：村民把纸扎的龙船顶在头上（客家话读「东」），随八音锣鼓走遍各村，因此叫东船，建国后改作东城。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代称东船村，属清远都黄沙社，清代属兰沙甲；1943年划入石云区，1957年归枫朗乡，1958年单独设乡，不久改称大队，隶枫朗公社。1986年12月称东城村，1998年设村民委员会。[1]
2021年12月，东城村被广东省爱国卫生委员会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
